Reflection:
You are a new creature. Born again through the blood of Jesus the Christ
that was shed for your sins and your redemption. This is your second
sunrise. With your first sunrise you has no choice. In being born or
the way, conditions or situation you were born into. It was a moment
in time that would shape you in many ways. Yet here you are experiencing
your second sunrise. Your birth as a Christian. This moment you have
chosen. This choice will completely change you and your future. So let
us consider some of the things that have helped you to this defining
point in your life.
For God so loved
the world that he gave His only Son so that people, just like you, may
be saved. This is an altruistic perfect gift of grace. God never had
to sacrifice His only Son. Nor did He need to redeem you through the
precious blood of His Son. Yet it was and has always been part of Gods'
perfect plan that nobody should be left behind. That any who call on
the name of Jesus the Christ will be saved. As it is said, you are saved
by Gods' grace and not by any of you works.
Now that you are
saved you can rest assured that all things will work towards fulfilling
Gods' purpose in your life. As long as you stay firm in your faith and
always love God your Father. Never forget that we each tend to make
our small day by day plans. But they are measured as nothing compared
to Gods' plans for each of us. Plans to help us prosper and to fulfil
our calling to share the Gospel that saved us with a world still trapped
in darkness.
There are some
negative side effects that you need to be made aware of. The world rejects
God and rejects His Son Jesus the Christ. So when you begin the share
your faith with family and friends you can expect many to turn against
you. They will become difficult and taunt you. Reminding you of all
the things you are now leaving behind you. The same people who professed
to have a great affection for you will now become aggressive. Rest assured
it is not your fault, Though they will claim that it is. As they deride
your faith in a God that they refuse to acknowledge. The first and primary
working tool will to pray for them. No need to tell them you are doing
this. To tell them can question if God will answer your prayer without
your action of telling them. Just quietly pray an individual prayer
thanking God that He and He alone can make the difference in their life's.
Continue to pray as well for your faith journey. As you continue to
fellowship with other Christians. You were once conformed to the world.
You have chosen to walk away. Now in prayer and fellowship do not be
drawn back in to the world.
I have mentioned
that you are now walking in faith. Yet as you are still new you may
ask what exactly faith is. The Bible explains it to use. Faith is a
firm assurance of things that are hoped for. Promised by God. As well
as a conviction in things that are not physically seen. For we live
in a dualistic world. A world made up of both the physical and the spiritual.
A world were there are daily battles between God and the evil prince
of the world. Known as Satan or Lucifer. Your faith will grow as you
study the Bible and learn to trust each day in Gods' grace.
This is your second
sunrise. Your second chance at a new life. You are indeed a new creation.
The old you has passed away revealing the new you. Much in the same
way a caterpillar, through the chrysalis, become a beautiful butterfly.
You have the chance to grow and shine. The past can be buried. Your
previous sins and shame can be washed away by the precious blood of
Jesus the Christ. You can continue to grow and fulfil Gods' divine purpose
for your life. As long as you stay on the straight road. Never turning
around or returning to your unasked ways. Staying the course and finishing
the race.
Prayer:
Dear and precious
Lord,
I take my second breather,
Embracing the new creation,
That you have begun in me.
I pray to continue
Lord,
To grow in wisdom,
To fulfil your plans for me,
To finnish the race.
In your name Lord,
I pray for strength,
I pray for patience,
I pray for the Holy Spirit.
Amen
