The
Good:
Matthew 17:20 -
" And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily
I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye
shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and
it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."
John 14:12
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the
works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these
shall he do; because I go unto my Father."
The Judgement:
John 4:48-53 -
" Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders,
ye will not believe."
John 4:48
"Unless you people see signs and wonders," Jesus told him, "you
will never believe."
The Bad:
2 Thessalonians 2:9 - [Even him],
" whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power
and signs and lying wonders,"
Revelation 13:14"And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth
by [the means of] those miracles which he had power to do in the
sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that
they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a
sword, and did live."
Revelation 19:20
" And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that
wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had
received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image.
These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone."
Reflection:
What are Miracles? Miracles are events and actions that take place
well above & beyond the understanding Man has of nature & reality.
We live in a very physical World. One that has for a very long time
been held captive by our five senses. For many, the very idea that
anything could exist outside what these five senses can register
is ludicrous. They openly scoff and sarcastically joke about any
who can feel an understanding or empathy with the Spiritual World.
Sadly there are these fools who have mingled with the Church and
have started leading people astray and away from Salvation.
Let's take a moment and consider the very chore of our belief. If
we truly say and believe that God created the Universe and all things,
then we should also follow through with the understanding that our
God has the ability to alter or change the Universe, the World or
Reality as we know it. Otherwise we are either saying that this
God we believe in has limited abilities. Or that we just vaguely
believe in an Omnipotent God. But draw the line whenever it suits
us. Especially when it comes to Logic and Rationality.
For a generation that want the entertainment of the miracle without
the message, none will be seen. Jesus encountered this attitude.
He knew well that there were plenty of charlatan's then and as there
are even today. People who can pull a rabbit out of a hat. Entertaining
and distracting. Yet not one bit of truth. Why would he waste time
showing a Miracle to the sightseers then or even now. If all they
want is to be amused and entertained?
True miracles take place in the small movements of a butterflies
wing. In the laughter of a child. Real miracles are like a pebble
dropped in water. It's amazing how easy we look for the so called
Big Miracles. When we easily miss the Real Miracles. In one of the
Oh God movies the comment was made regarding Miracles. This was
that it was a miracle when a single mother with two jobs could still
find time to spend quality time with their child. It's not the big
miracles that we should be seeking. It's the multitude of little
miracles each day that we should take time to appreciate.
The event is never as large as the ripples that are sent out. Touching
and moving all around it. In small seemingly imperceptible and unexpected
ways. Much the same as Chinese Whispers. A true miracle takes place
in the smallest of ways. Then gently ripples out and touches peoples
life's in ways seldom understood. Miracles are like the gently heart
beat of a new born baby. They whisper to us the overflowing of Gods
gift of life to all creation. Calling us to return to our first
and true love.
When was the last time you stopped and embraced the most oblivious
of miracles? the rising of the sun.
Prayer:
Lord I seek to know you,
As my Saviour,
As my closest friend,
As I make the Pilgrims Journey,
Of the Cross of Calvary.
Be my Moral Compass,
Lead me in your ways of truth,
And guard me from distraction,
So that I may not stray,
From your precious side.
May I live the life that leads,
To your Heavenly Grace,
To a blessed oneness with God,
To those who have gone before,
Into your Glory of Salvation.
Amen
