Wisdom Like A Pearl ©
Petrarchan

If life be folly and folly be spent,
Then where shall I go to find some meaning.
To make sense of a world that's coreening.
Is there no answer to this arguement?
What angels could sing me sweet laments.
And yet where is my Lord's Intervening?
To show my my fault in words demeaning.
In hushed tones I await life's advent.
Then God denounces my foolish mutters.
For my half-herted faith that lacks resolve.
I'm told that wisdom is a grain of sand.
Within the oyster it grates and flutters.
Through agigtation the sand will evolve.
Into a pearl so smooth, perfect and grand.
