Abstract Poem Structure

What is it that you see?
A blur of sinlight filtered.
Like a tattered gauze.
Twisting shades of grey.

Nothing seems as real.
As remembering mistakes.
Remorse a patient friend.
A black dog.
Walking at your side through.
Encounters that seem familiar.

Let go of it.
It only halds you back.
Barnicles slowing a ship.
Unwanted clutter in a dark room.
You are better then this.
Made new to shine.
Yet you linger in darkness.

Jesus made a difference.
Don't make His sacrifice fade.
Something you once cherrished.
Tarnished with self pitty.

Not like you to forget.
Birthdays are one thing.
But salvation is forever.
Wake up and remember.

Your life should mean so much more.
So why does it resemble.
Broken windows letting in rain.
A floor muddied by dirty feet.
Or a door left unlocked and swining.

Rise and walk out into the light.
