Plot:
In 1910 Paris, during the Great Flood, the timid projectionist
Emile Petit heads to the Botanical Gardens with his buddy Raoul
for a delivery. Since the Professor is not around, they encounter
his assistant, a proboscis monkey named Charles, who is in charge.
Raoul decides to test out two potions - "Atomise-a-Tune" (which
gives people operatic singing voices) and "Super Fertiliser" (which
makes plants grow huge). A mishap occurs when the potions mix,
leading to an explosion. Emile catches a glimpse of a monstrous
creature that escapes the lab and starts causing chaos in the
city.
Meanwhile
Lucille, a singer at the club L'Oiseau Rare and Raoul's childhood
friend, is being pressured by her aunt Carlotta to marry Police
Commissioner Victor Maynott. Maynott is running for mayor and
is leading an investigation into the sightings of a mysterious
creature. One night, Lucille comes face to face with the creature
and is initially scared, but soon realises it's just an enlarged
flea with a beautiful singing voice. She names the creature "Francœur"
and allows him to stay in her dressing room.
Maynott discovers
Emile and Raoul's involvement in the laboratory explosion, but
chooses to ignore it and honours them with the Medal of Honour.
They are invited to Lucille's upcoming show, during which she
and a disguised Francœur perform a duet. Following the performance,
Lucille accidentally discloses Francœur's true identity to Emile
and Raoul. The next day, they attend a conference where Maynott
declares his intention to hunt down and eliminate the monster.
When Albert, a waiter at the L'Oiseau Rare, alerts Maynott to
Francœur's location, Lucille devises a plan for Francœur to fake
his own death during a ceremony the following day.

Review:
A Monster in Paris is not your standard human monster romance. It
has a few fun twists and turns. Along with some unexpected developments.
All of which makes this a fun movie for the whole family. Being created
from an accident the monster seeks to find his place in the world.
He does have a wonderful voice that makes up for his startling and
disturbing looks. Perhaps the French will be able to accept and enjoy
his voice despite his looks? You'll need to watch to find out.
