Plot:
In
2056, a deadly organ failure epidemic has ravaged the world, leaving
only 1% of the human population alive. GeneCo, a massive corporation,
offers organs with a payment scheme. If clients fail to make payments,
Repo Men, expert killers, track them down to reclaim the organs.
The CEO of GeneCo, Rotti Largo, learns he is fatally ill. Rotti's
kids Luigi, Pavi, and Amber argue over who will take over GeneCo,
but Rotti thinks none of them are suitable successors. Instead,
he plans to leave his wealth to Shilo Wallace, a 17-year-old girl
and the daughter of his deceased ex-fiancée Marni.
Shilo has
inherited a rare blood disease from Marni that requires her to
stay indoors, though she longs to see the outside world. Shilo's
overprotective father Nathan believes he accidentally killed Marni
with a treatment he created for her illness – in truth, a jealous
Rotti secretly poisoned Marni's medicine and blackmailed Nathan,
promising not to arrest him if he agreed to become GeneCo's head
Repo Man, though he has convinced Shilo he is a doctor. One night,
Shilo secretly visits Marni's tomb and runs into the omniscient
Grave Rober, who is digging up bodies to secrete Zydrate, a euphoric
and addictive painkiller that he sells on the street to keep up
with his GeneCo payments.

Review:
This is a gory dark view of a disturbing future. Where life becomes
a commodity that can be purchased for the right amount of money.
If you don't have the money you can use what we now call a buy
now pay later scheme. Or BNPL scheme. So many of these have sprung
up that tour economy is starting to move from a credit card stand
off to a BNPL stand off. With a detrimental effect to people struggling
to keep up with debts.
The
characters are very real and relatable. While the cast are surprising
in their musical abilities. So many have shown just how talented
they are. One of my fave is Sarah Brightman. Who dazzles in her
performance as Blind Mag. Although this film is dark and gory
it's still good to watch after the youth have gone to bed and
you need some intense entertainment.
