Plot: Matthew Quigley, an American cowboy, possesses a uniquely customised rifle that enables him to accurately shoot at remarkable distances. Upon coming across a newspaper ad seeking an individual with his particular skill, he responds succinctly with the message "M. Quigley 900 yards" on a copy of the ad riddled with six closely grouped bullet holes.

Upon his arrival in Australia, he finds himself embroiled in a heated altercation with the employees of the man who had hired him. The dispute arises when they attempt to forcefully place "Crazy Cora" onto their wagon. However, once he reveals his true identity, he is escorted to Elliot Marston's station. It is here that Marston reveals his intention to utilise Quigley's exceptional sharpshooting skills to eliminate the increasingly elusive Aboriginal Australians. Rejecting the offer, Quigley firmly expels Marston from his own residence. Unfortunately, Quigley's refusal leads to a brutal assault by Marston's men, leaving him and Cora unconscious. Stranded in the unforgiving Outback without water and facing slim chances of survival, they are eventually rescued by a group of compassionate Aboriginal Australians.

End of Spoilers

Review: Quigley is a fun packed film. Tom Sellick is at his classic best. As a yank downunder coming to terms with some of the stranger aspects of the Australian bush and the characters who live there. A special blend of Aussie humour and yanky western sarcasm makes this film fun.
